The presiding deity of this temple is lord ayyappa and its believed that, worshipping
this deity in this temple is same as worshipping Sabarimala Sastha. People who cant
go to sabarimala, will get the same blessings from here. It is believed that this
deity is found from the place where pandavas conducted veda-mathra yaga. This temple
is also known as 'Vedhasalakkavu'.
People celebrates the festival from 'Thiruvathira' to 'Uthram' in the malayalam
month 'Midhunam'.
Makaravilakku and Mandalam season are important.The main offerings are 'Elluthiri'
and 'Annadhanam'.
